Each item has certain required attributes that are necessary to the creation of the item and extra attributes. These other attributes are not required to be filled in, but it is highly recommended to provide as much information as possible.

    An Audit is a study that measures the effectiveness of the methods used for best management practices. Audit Data is the raw data that was collected from the audit.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the audit.
    2. State - Where the audit occurred.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Audit Date - The date that the audit occurred.
    2. Eco-Region - The eco-region(s) associated with the audit. Click here to see a map of the eco-regions.
    3. Contact Information - The name, phone and ext, and email of the contact associated with the audit.
    4. Description - A description of what the results of the audit were.
    5. Audit File - A file containing the raw data.


  • Audit Report

  • Bibliography


    A Bibliography is a citation in APA format of works that relate to best management practices.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Medium - The type of work.
    2. State - What state the Bibliography relates to.
    3. Author - The author of the work.

    2. Publication Year - The year that the Bibliography was published.
    3. Online Link - A link to the book or to ordering information for the book.
    4. Keywords - Words that will help when searching for this topic.

      • Book Title - The title of the book.

      • Editor(s) - The editor(s) of the book.
      • Publisher - The company that published the book.

      • Title - The title of the series.
      • Publisher - The company that published the series.

      • Title - The title of the thesis.
      • University - The university that the thesis was written at.
      • Publisher - The journal that the thesis was published in.
      • Publication Location - The city and state that the thesis was published in.
      • Volume - The volume number of the journal that the thesis was published in.
      • Pages - The page number of the thesis.
    • Ph.D. Dissertation:
      • Title - The title of the dissertation.
      • University - The university that the dissertation was written at.
      • Publisher - The journal that the dissertation was published in.
      • Publication Location - The city and state that the dissertation was published in.
      • Volume - The volume number of the journal that the dissertation was published in.
      • Pages - The page number of the dissertation.
    • Internet Site:
      • Title - The title of the web site.
      • Date Accessed - The date that the information was accessed.
      • Site URL - The web address of the site.
      • Page ID - The ID number of the article that is contained in the URL.


  • BMP Manual


    A BMP Manual is a manual that describes the methods used for best management practices.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the BMP manual.
    2. State - Where the BMP manual took place.
    3. Authors - The authors of the BMP manual.
    Other Attributes:

    2. Publication Year - The year that the BMP manual was published.
    3. Keywords - Words that will help when searching for this topic.

  • Calendar Event


    A calendar event is an event that occurs such as a conference, meeting, workshop, etc.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the event.
    2. State - Where the event will occur.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Location - The place where the event will occur.
    2. Address - The address where the event will occur.
    3. Event Type - The type of event (conference, fund raiser, etc.)
    4. Starting Date and Time - The date and time that the event will begin.
    5. Ending Date and Time - The date and time that the event will end.
    6. Contact Information - Information for the person to contact about the event (name, phone, email).
    7. Description - A description of what the event is for, about.


  • Contact


    Any person that is a contact for some area of forestry BMPs. Typically state, federal, or non-government.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Prefix - The prefix of the contact (Mr., Mrs., Ms., or Dr.).
    2. First and Last Name - The name of the contact.
    3. State - The state that this contact has ties to.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Official Title - The title of the contact (Director, etc.).
    2. Contact Type - Is the contact a state, federal, or non-government contact.
    3. Office - The office that the contact is in.
    4. Department - The department that the contact works for.
    5. Address - The address of the contact.
    6. Email - The contact's email.
    7. Phone and fax - The contact's phone and fax number.
    8. URL and URL Title - The website that the contact is affiliated with.
    9. Affiliation - The organization that the contact is affiliated with.
    10. Description - A description of the contact.
    11. Audit Contact - Is the contact's role based upon audits.


  • Document


    Can contain text and html. Allows a user to create a home page for their folder.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the document.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Description - A description of the document.
    2. Body - The text/html that makes up the document.
    3. Format - The way that the body text should be interpreted. Choose between plain text, HTML code, and structured text. If you use HTML code in the document, choose html. Otherwise, just choose plain text.
    4. Upload - Allows you to upload the document from another location.


  • Folder


    Allows a user to group their items.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the folder.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Description - A description of the folder and what is stored inside it.


  • Funding Opportunity


    A Funding Opportunity is an opportunity to recieve funding from some organization to help with the cost of conforming to BMPs.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the funding opportunity.
    2. Organization - The name of the organization to which the funding opportunity applies.
    3. State - The state that the funding opportunity would be for.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Funding Amount - The prospective amount of funding to be donated.
    2. Closing Date - The last date to apply for the funding opportunity.
    3. Contact Information - The name, phone and ext, and email of the contact associated with the funding opportunity.
    4. URL and URL Title - The web site associated with the organization or funding opportunity.
    5. Description - A description of what the results of the audit were.
    6. Funding File - A file containing the specs for the funding opportunity.


  • Image


    Any image that is relevant to forestry BMPs.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The title of the image.
    2. The Image File - The place to upload the image from.
    3. State - The state that this image is relevant for.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Description - Describes the image's content.


  • Legal Item


    A legal item is used to store legislation, permits, and regulations dealing with any area of forestry Best Management Practices.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The title of the legal item.
    2. State - The state that this legal item is relevant for.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Resource Type - The kind of legal item (legislation, permit, or regulation).
    2. Resource Scope - The level that the item is relevant for (federal, state, county, local).
    3. URL and URL Title- The web address and title of where to find the legal item.
    4. Description - A description of the legal item.


  • News Item


    A news item is used to store articles dealing with any area of forestry Best Management Practices.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Headline - A one-line phrase to describe the article.
    2. State - The state that this item is relevant for.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Date - The date that the article was published.
    2. Time - The time that the article was published.
    3. Publisher - The publisher of the article.
    4. Lead-In - A more descriptive summary of the article.
    5. Body - The actual of the article.
    6. URL - The web address of where to find the article.
    7. URL Title - The title of the web site.


  • Organization


    Any organization that is related to some area of forestry BMPs.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the organization.
    2. State - The state that this contact has ties to.
    Other Attributes:
    1. Address - The address of the organization.
    2. Phone and fax number - The phone and fax number for the organization.
    3. URL and Title - The website and title of the website for the organization.
    4. Contact Information - The information of a contact for the organization (name, phone, e-mail).
    5. Description - A description of the organization.
    6. Provides Funding - Does the organization provide funding?
    7. Funding Contact - If the organization provides funding, the contact for funding information (name, phone, e-mail).
    8. Funding Description - If the organization provides funding, a description of the funding.


  • Water Quality Study


    A Water Quality Study is a study that describes the quality of water.

    Required Attributes:
    1. Title - The name of the Water Quality study.
    2. State - Where the Water Quality study took place.
    3. Authors - The authors of the Water Quality study.
